An action made by 30 artists beside Main Street Bawaleshie, Accra, Ghana – directed by artists Matt Baker (Scotland) and Kofi Setordji (Ghana).

This Earth 001, Ghana.
Street Artists arrive. Most of the artists working onThis Earth were Street Artists – traditionally all advertising, shop signage etc in Ghana is handpainted (example-right). These artists are rapidly seeing their skills replaced by computer graphics and digital printing.
This Earth 002, Ghana.
All of the paint for the project was made from readily available pigments (eg earth, china clay, cooking charcoal and laundry whitener) these were mixed with water and cooked cassava starch.

The concept for the overall work was a ‘road that transforms itself through the actions of hands’.

Mr Dawson (left) is a well-known Ghanaian artist, he worked with younger artists through the day.
