Glasgow 2004

120m permanent artwork forms a new boundary between private and public space in an urban regeneration project and reintroduces a strip of ‘wilderness’ to the landscape.

Before the regeneration project, the Gorbals was a place of wastegrounds – wild vegetation that was a playground for children. Cultivated Wilderness aimed to create an area of wild planting as a resource for children and wildlife.
